CALL FOR ANTHEMS!

ESS is excited to partner with our local, non-profit, community-based, accessibility-focused soccer club, Edgewater Castle FC in a competition for Chicago musicians, artists, and composers to write ECFC’s new club anthem. The anthem will be sung by players and fans at ECFC games and bring a sense of pride and unity to the club’s community.

Submission period:
Start Date: March 8, 2021
End Date: April 8, 2021 (12:00 PM)

About The Project:
Edgewater Castle (The Rooks) is calling on local artists to submit an original anthem to be a part of the club’s identity and culture for years to come. The anthem will be sung by players and fans at our games and bring a sense of pride and unity to our club’s community. The winner will be chosen by a selection jury composed of club staff, community owners, players, sponsors & fans.

The anthem contest is being presented in collaboration with Experimental Sound Studio. The prize for the selected winner will be:

  • Cash prize of $250

  • A Lifetime Membership with ECFC - $1,000 value

  • 4 hours of studio time at Experimental Sound Studio (Chicago facilities only) with professional engineer to be used for recording, mixing, or mastering (remote available) - $240 value

  • One year-long ESS Membership - $40 value

  • A professional audio recording of the anthem to be used however they wish - $120 value

About The Club:
Edgewater Castle FC is a community-oriented soccer club that provides access to the game for those that don’t have it. Serving primarily the North Side, and its immigrant population, ECFC represents the beautiful diversity that exists in our city, and uses the game of soccer to bring people together, and help them belong. Our player pool is made up of players from over 17 different countries, and speaks more than 20 languages.
