Bacon Grease
Bacon Grease is the longtime solo project of Orlando, Florida's Andrea Knight. Knight has been a vital presence in the Central Floridian underground for many years, as a photographer and show booker. Utilizing an army of samplers, drum machines and synths, Knight creates improvised textures and shimmering electronics that call to mind everything from classic electro to playful avant skronk to bleak Joy Division-y majesty. Seeing Knight as Bacon Grease live is a thrilling on-the-fly experience, with seemingly tentative beeps and pulses suddenly exploding into kaleidoscopic webs of danceable electronics. Knight is also one-half of pop duo Shania Pain. She has recorded two albums for Popnihil, the most recent being Slow Burn, and has at least 3 currently planned with other labels.

Fjshwjfe
Fjshwjfe has been the musical vehicle of Kate Swan from Tampa, Florida since 2012. Swan has been immersed in the Tampa underground for the better part of a decade, as a performer, show booker, a co-founder of the Epoxy performance space, and one of the organizers of the Tropical Depression southern gothic fest. As Fjshwjfe, Swan has released one album, the masterful Tourist in the Dark, and several singles and splits through Popnihil, as well as a split album on Cephia’s Treat with i_like_dog_face. Swan also plays in Orlando gothic project Burnt Hair. Fjshwjfe’s music is a blend of dark electronics and high-drama torch-songs, reminiscent of Scott Walker refracted through a dark-synth DAF lens, all based around her powerful voice, jagged electronics and an undeniable ear for melody and song.

Whirlynn
Whirlynn is the musical outlet for Vanessa Garcia-Cuevas, a Floridian multimedia artist of Panamanian and Puerto Rican descent. Whirlynn has been an active participant in the Central Florida and South Florida undergrounds for many years, playing DIY (and larger) shows, doing projections at art events, and screening films in unconventional and unexpected locations Her most recent album for Popnihil, Yákakeitiwa -“we are still here” in an Arawak dialect of the Eyeri language - is a stunning departure from her previous improvisational and soundscape-oriented works, instead veering into gorgeous dreampop and synth-pop territory, often flavored with Latin music influences. This album is the start of Whirlynn’s process of reconnecting with her indigenous mixed heritage in an attempt to decolonize herself while finding an essential solace in music and art.

Mother Juno
Mother Juno is John Rousseau from Orlando, Florida. Rousseau has been involved in the North Central Floridian DIY and punk underground since 2009, playing in bands like Cretin Girls (who infamously opened for Peter Murphy in 2014), Android and currently Body Shop. Rousseau began Mother Juno in 2016, a solo vehicle to retake control of his creative life and explore harder, EBM-style beats and performances. Mother Juno has released two albums for Popnihil, as well as cassettes for Berlin’s Detriti and Indonesia’s Private Experiment, exploring an evolving sound that has veered from more experimental work to heavy industrial anthems. Mother Juno performances hit that memorable midpoint between wracked exorcism and dance party, all fog, strobes and self-punishment. Rousseau is also a producer and engineer, recently working with Orlando band the Spoon Dogs and electronic project Ootheca.

Woven In
Woven In is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Mariah Fortune, a darkwave artist based in Baltimore, and formerly New York City and Atlanta - although she has very deep Florida roots. As Woven In, Fortune has recorded and released 10 albums over the last 8 years, both self-released and through labels like Popnihill, Grimalkin and Deadtank. Fortune also ran the Catbody DIY performance space in Baltimore. Woven In has been a foundational artist for Popnihil, releasing a series of 4 albums for the label starting in 2014 with Woven In and up through 2020’s flawless Profess - an exploration of themes of love, kink and “being a Black woman in America” through moody and reflective electronic music. Fortune is a creative and restless artist, constantly searching out new ways and new instruments to express herself, through dark surf music, post-punk, and darkwave synth and beat-based dance sounds.
