ESS is excited to host a special concert by avant-garde Brooklyn trio ZS. In what has been called a genre unto itself, the trio of Sam Hillmer (tenor sax), Patrick Higgins (guitar), Greg Fox (percussion) combine noise and free improvisation with meticulous structure. The band has been making waves in experimental music circles for the past few years, and we look forward to hearing them in the intimate environment of Studio A.

Opening the evening will be Thrill Jockey artists Guardian Alien, a deep psych project helmed by former Liturgy member Greg Fox (also a recent addition to ZS). Their most recent album, See the World Given to a One Love Entity, was released last summer to critical acclaim.
