July 22, 2019: Western Mass's Hollow Deck is a partnership between multi-instrumentalists Mia Friedman and Andy Allen. They brought their exciting and hard to categorize music to the Experimental Sound Studio for the first time in this performance.
July 15, 2019: "Cellist Katinka Kleijn and guitarist Bill MacKay have each built impressive resumes in their respective musical trajectories over the years. Katinka as a member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the International Contemporary Ensemble as well as a host of collaborations with artists as diverse as Yo -Yo Ma, David Sylvian and the prog metal band District 97.
July 8, 2019: Songwriter and multi - instrumentalist Sima Cunningham has been a mainstay of the Chicago music scene for more than a decade. Along with co-founding the Avant rock band OHMME, she has also performed and recorded with a host of great artists including Jeff Tweedy, Chance The Rapper, Paul Dempsey and Kelly Hogan.
July 1, 2019: Jeff Albert is a significant member of the improvised music scene both in his home town of New Orleans as well as abroad. As a performer, composer, music technologist, presenter and educator, he has worked endlessly and across multiple genres; developing and sharing his unique and personal musical vision.

Sunday Session Playlists

Members have access to curated playlists from ESS’s Creative Audio Archive Sunday Sessions. This new program from the Creative Audio Archive at ESS asks guest curators, those with ties to a particular CAA collection, to assemble a playlist around a theme and present it at a live listening event. Between and beside these historic sounds, curators will provide first-hand stories and conversation, offering further insight into important recordings of avant-garde music makers.
