‘Planetarium’ Album Release Party

Description

November 10 join ESS and The Bridge for a record release celebration featuring a duo set by Magic Malik & Angel Bat Dawid at Experimental Sound Studio. The party goes from 6–9 p.m., with live music starting at 7:30 p.m.

Free to attend, no RSVP necessary.

Since 2019, 48 musicians across 11 Bridge ensembles have taken part in an unfolding musical exchange at ESS. The ‘Planetarium’ recording brings together two collective experiments: original responses to the Sun Ra archives housed in the Creative Audio Archive at ESS, and a musical “exquisite corpse,” with each ensemble creating an improvisation after hearing only the final seconds of the previous group’s recording.
