Roulette TV presents an evening of classic episodes from our archives, honoring five seminal artists – Pauline Oliveros, Robert Ashley, Jerome Cooper, Billy Bang, and Davey Williams. Each episode features a performance followed by an exclusive interview with the artist on their process and work. Both a historical document and a transformative testament to the power of experimental art, these episodes highlight the vitality of each artist and the ongoing importance of their work.
Launched in 1999, Roulette TV has produced over 115 episodes – broadcast weekly on Manhattan and Brooklyn cable networks and distributed through Roulette’s website, and Vimeo channel. The Roulette TV archive includes many avant-garde luminaries from Roulette’s rich history, such as Sun Ra, David Behrman, Zeena Parkins, Ikue Mori, William Parker, Sally Silvers, and many more. It also features many emerging artists as they grow their career and audience, including Ben Greenberg, Mary Halvorson, Darius Jones, Tyshawn Sorey, Cassie Tunick, Lesley Flanigan, and C. Spencer Yeh.
