"Piano, Alone in a Room" will be a live-streamed series of coded and realtime player piano activations. Artists from diverse backgrounds and disciplines will employ a wide array of compositional techniques, media, software, and technology, all in conversation with the show’s theme of Translating/Transcoding. This event is curated by Sam Anthem (@samanthem.x) and is presented by SAIC's Department of Art + Technology / Sound Practices, which maintains the Charles Morcom Yamaha Disklavier piano. It will be live-stream only, accessible through Experimental Sound Studio’s YouTube channel.

Participating artists include: Andrew Monks, Austen Brown, Blue McCall, Chris Brown, Christof Migone, Doug Rosman, Emrys Brandt, Erez Dessel, Gordon D. Fung, Jan Frohn, Joseph Oakes, Judd Morrissey, Sam Anthem, Kim Nucci, Kristin McWharter, Lorenzo Osterheim, Benjamin Glass, Mauricio López F., Patrick Glennon, Yousif Alzayed, Robb Drinkwater, Seth Cluett, Seth Horvitz, Shawn Decker, and Wiliam Halas.
