Since 2018, EAT DIS has been working at the fringes of the internet club music, creating danceable tunes with an experimental edge. Specifically a space for nonbinary and trans producers to push the boundaries of sound, EAT DIS melds their politics with their art, sprinkling in a touch of humor for good measure. Recently, they've collaborated with New York's Sorry Records on Tony G's One More Time EP, featuring remixes from DJ GIRL and Sonia Calico. For this Quarantine Concert, expect loud, fast, and hard dance music sets with a gritty, experimental bent.

This concert is curated by ESS’s Fall Curatorial Fellow James Gui. The ESS Curatorial Fellowship seeks to create space for the exploration of frameworks, strategies, and structures for connecting artists and audiences. For more information about James, click here.

TANK JR

Tank Jr. creates music out of St. Petersburg, Florida, whose focus stays on hardcore electronic music. Having produced for the last 11 years they’ve stayed inspired by artists like Fifth Era, Ecco2k and Nails, all the while fueling their creations from a predilection for uptempo hardcore. Blending styles of electro house, juke and gabber they’ve collaborated with artists like Zvrra and Elevation while also releasing records with EAT DIS such as their 2021 Autism House series and their Frankie Goes Too Hard release made during one of the EAT DIS 2hr competitions. Going further they look to “play music really fucking loud forever.”

ZVRRA

Zvrra is a multi-genre music producer, DJ and video game developer based in the Chicago area. Zvrra has been producing music for 18 years and credits the prolific dance music soundtrack of 2003 video game Midnight Club 2 for her love of techno. Her music explores a multitude of genres and styles ranging from techno and house, to hip hop, to tribal and industrial, often blending styles and crafting intricate concept albums. Zvrra has garnered much attention in the dance music scene for her 2020 release “Flow State,” a hypnotic 4-track techno EP that has been supported by acts such as Shifted, DJ GIRL, Ron AD and more. Flow State was featured in Bandcamp's Best Electronic Music January 2021 round-up, acclaimed by Joe Muggs as “bass-heavy, crackling with textural detail, sensually enveloping.”

ALPTRACK

Born, raised and based in Austin, TX, alptracks has been creating music for more than two decades, focusing on blending many styles of music from industrial to hip hop to electronic and beyond. Inspired by scenes that push the boundaries of contemporary sound, her experience in noise rock bands and the psychomagic concept of Alejandro Jodorowsky she wishes to evolve her art by experimenting more with visuals and further enhancing the quality of her live performances. Collaborating with EAT DIS artists such as Sepha with their POP THAT single in 2020, and Twofold with their collaborative tracks on DRUM TO DRUM COMMUNICATION, alp are blazing new trails in club music and is in the process of creating her next EP MS(M).

SEPHA

Sepha is a trans dj/producer from Washington state. Debuting in 2013 as Kotekan with a release on German label "Roy De Rats", her early style focused on creating a feeling of atmosphere and exploration, and self-expression through melody. Her first-length album as sepha, "I Fell Into the Unknown", was released in 2017, documenting her experiences coming into adulthood, her changing gender and identity, and becoming a parent. In more recent years, her focus has shifted to feed her love of dance music, with a number of DJ-focused releases in 2020 and 2021. Recently her track "Thank You to Baltimore Club" landed her a mention in DJ Mag alongside acclaimed label Juke Bounce Werk.

TWOFOLD

Twofold is a United States artist based in Georgia who has been working with electronic music since their foray into Ableton at the start of the 2010s. Directly influenced by EAT DIS artists such as alptrack and sepha, twofold thrives on everyday movements and textures while taking inspiration from Black American club scenes, video game soundtracks and classical artists like Erik Satie to produce hard-hitting and engaging electronic. Focusing on dance music while experimenting in ambient, twofold has recently collaborated with alptrack on their DRUM TO DRUM COMMMUNICATION project as well as two’s latest release “Trax with love” which was featured in the July 2021 column of Bandcamp Daily’s Best Electronic Music series. Making music to stave off the insanity of the world they keep busy making fire bangers to blast either from car doors or dance floors all the while progressing their passion to create emotive soundtrack work.

DJ GIRL

DJ GIRL is the baddest bitch in techno bass serving hard techno and electro beats since 2014. DJ Girl was born in Metro Detroit and initially started her musical career as tchan, creating Detroit centric bass music with a cartoonish and experimental edge. Over the course of several years she received love from the underground from her 3 tchan releases, after which she started giving the midwest techno experience to many cities in the US and Canada. She started the mix series 'Terrible Tuesdays' on datafruits in 2017 and has kept it up weekly. In 2018 she started her own label Eat Dis which became a collective over the course of the pandemic and has since dropped over 24 releases and connected many artists from across disciplines and regions. In 2021, she released SLSK TRAX on Planet Euphorique which has become an underground classic. Currently she's in Austin, TX and is always on the move and ready to rip it up anywhere she goes~~
