Beth McDonald is a classically trained tuba player gone awry. She currently performs as half of Korean Jeans, and works largely in the fields of electroacoustic music and contemporary classical music. Beth also collaborates on performance projects with artists including Mark Booth, Sasha de Koninck, Nathanael Lee Jones, and Becky Grajeda. In 2014, she released “Still,” her solo CD featuring works for tuba and electronics, and her most recent releases include the EP “Cold Weather Birding” (2016) and Korean Jeans’ third album, “Heat” (2017). As Artistic Director of the August Noise JP concert series for four seasons, she worked to bring unexpected music to public spaces and to engage her fellow musicians in their community. Beth currently works behind the scenes at Piano Power (Chicago) and the Callithumpian Consort (Boston), and studied at New England Conservatory and the University of Kentucky.
