Bob Beswick/Ed Herrmann

Bob Beswick: dance

Ed Herrmann: sound

From Ed Herrmann:

"Bob Beswick is a veteran of the Nikolais Dance Theatre. He has performed, choreographed, and taught throughout England, Australia, and the U. S. He combines movement and voice within a theatrical context, reflecting influences from his studies with Alwin Nikolais as well as the work and teachings of John Cage.

Bob and I have performed together since 1985 when we met at Stephens College in Columbia, MO. We enjoy working in structured improvisations, and we have fun pushing each other's boudaries. We've performed across the U.S, including shows at Roulette and Experimental Intermedia Foundation in NYC, and an invisible dance concert on the radio.

For our performance at ESS, I've made some new pieces using electronics, gongs, piano and other instruments. Bob claims to have worked out his parts while exploring a playground near his home in Brooklyn. He might tell a story; we each might use cardboard.

The show is appropriate for all ages and there will be much to enjoy."
