HARD R (Mike Junokas and Eddie Breitweiser) will perform TROUT (for Jonathan Harvey) (2012-2013) for laptops, electronics, and four loudspeakers.

TROUT is an audio network comprisingnumerous custom computer programs and DIY electronic nodes. These nodes—including ultrasonic oscillators, light-sensitive audio devices, and visual sequencers—are interconnected with real-time audio-visual analysis software that is used to interface with digital signal processors and synthesizers. When arranged into the TROUT network, these analog and digital signals—subject to infinite degrees of variation and accumulation—become an immersive cybernetic musical system that can be performed via improvisational interaction. For the premiere, presented by ESS, TROUT will be performed in quadraphonic surround sound.
