Coppice & Tomasdottir performance

Berglind María Tómasdóttir is an Icelandic flutist and interdisciplinary artist living in San Diego, California. She has performed at the Reykjavík Arts Festival, MSPS New Music Festival in Shreveport, Louisiana, REDCAT in Los Angeles, CMMAS in Morelia, Mexico, The Bang on a Can Marathon in San Francisco and Dark Music Days in Reykjavík, to name a few. Berglind María Tómasdóttir studied at Reykjavik College of Music and The Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen from where she received a graduate degree in 2001. Principal teachers include Bernhard Wilkinson, Hallfríður Ólafsdóttir, Toke Lund Christiansen and Pierre-Yves Artaud. She has twice received an Artist’s Stipend from the Icelandic State and received a Fulbright scholarship for her current studies at the University of California, San Diego. [berglindtomasdottir.com]

Coppice (Noé Cuéllar & Joseph Kramer) is a Chicago-based duet of bellows and electronics. Since its formation in 2009 they have produced original compositions for stage, fixed media, and performed installation settings. Their debut full-length CD "Holes/Tract" has been recently released by Consumer Waste (UK), paired with a limited edition print. Coppice has appeared at a number of US venues and festivals, including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, and internationally in Iceland, Sweden and the Netherlands. [futurevessel.com/coppice]
