Program 20, 26:30

Storm the Studio: A Radio Landscape voice of William S. Burroughs

In 1959 William S. Burroughs, one of the founding members of the "beat generation," achieved notoriety with the publication of Naked Lunch, a work composed with a collage technique knowr as "cut-ups." Since then, he has achieved international acclaim with such books as The Sofi Machine, Cities of the Red Night, and The Western Lands, and with readings and film appearances (most recently in Drug Store Cowboy).

Bill Milosz and Lanny Silverman extend "cut-up" technique in this experimental radio work, sound effects, incidental music and other perversities, all assembled according to scripts generated randomly on a computer program.
