The Spain/Chicago Artist Exchange

Applications are open for The Spain/Chicago Artist Exchange, our ongoing collaboration with the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain.

The selected Spanish artist will participate in a 10-12 day in-person residency in Fall 2026 at Experimental Sound Studio in Chicago.

This open call is aimed at sound artists holding a Spanish passport. While the call is open to all Spanish artists, priority will be given to those currently residing and working in Spain.

The selected Spain-based artist is paired with a Chicago partner artist selected by ESS from a separate, limited call.
